The Greater Portmore Circuit of Baptist Churches, in collaboration with the National Blood Transfusion Service, has hosted blood collection missions in Portmore (St. Catherine Parish) for the last four years, and it was observed that most females who volunteered were unable to donate due to low haemoglobin.

For 2021 calendar year, there will be two blood collection drives (June 26th and December 11th).

Medimpex Jamaica Ltd. & Medimpex West Indies Ltd. fulfilling its corporate social responsibility to the welfare of Jamaica’s citizens, contributed on April 29th with a donation of iron supplements which will be encouraged for females in the health and nutrition discussions which will be hosted during the blood drives, trying to prevent a recurrence of the issue from previous years.
